Back in the day, knives in Japan were sharpened on natural sharpening stones gathered from quarries. They were hand cut and polished, and, depending on the quality of the stone extracted, were worth a fortune! These days however advancements in technology have allowed us to create highly effective synthetic stones. Now we can choose from a variety of sharpening stones, including but not limited to ceramic stones and diamond-surfaced stones, as well as stones that have different grits. On this page, we offer a selection of sharpening stones and matching accessories.
